ARH Studios is an American Company, whose products are mainly devoted to ancient and mythological characters. The Wrath of the Thunder God statue is devoted to Thor and was sculpted by Alex Pereira in collaboration with Arahom Radjah (who also handled the painting). The piece was released in both a regular version, with an edition size of 300 samples, and an exclusive variant (100 pieces), equipped with an additional, alternative version of Mjolnir and an art print. In addition, to the best of my knowledge, also a very limited Artist Proof version was released (15 samples), with the autographs of both authors under the base, and the statue I have in my collection is just the #1 of such a rare variant! The statue is massive and very heavy. Being inspired by the Scandinavian mythology, the figure is quite different from the well known features of the Comics' character created by the duo Lee-Kirby. Thor, in fact, wears a finely decorated leather costume and is wrapped in a huge fur cape. The trunk is covered by a black sleeveless jacket, embellished by a twist of silvery lines and six frames showing golden decorations, which remind the classic circles of the Comics' suit. Laterally (under the jacket), a metallic jersey is visible, with small buckles tightening the suit to the body. The tall leather belt at waist is equipped with a sort of centered, circular coat of arms and black strips at both sides. A lot of rigid and finely decorated guards protect the hips, the knees and the shins and partially cover the body-fitting brown leather pants. Long guards with leather strips and buckles are also present at forearms, while two leather thongs embrace the bumped, powerful biceps. A huge cloak, with a luxurious red inner part and a brown border, surrounds the whole figure, whit a fur coat coverinf the shoulders and the back of the character. Both the variants of the legendary Mjolnir exhibit a rather complex polygonal shape, a lace at bottom and many golden embellishments which stand out on the silvery background color. The face is quite expressive, with the open mouth and teeth in good evidence, deep wrinkles at both sides of the nose and long red beard and hair which, however, show a bit too crude sculpt and would have probably required a greater attention to detail. On the contrary, the classic white wings positioned at the sides of the helmet are beautiful and carved at best; moreover, the helmet is equipped with lateral guards covering the ears, a large iron strip on forehead and additional decorations. The base depicts a rocky terrain and exhibits the logo of the ARH Studios carved in relief, while at the foot of the hero lies a beautiful wooden shield and a finely decorated ax; the same base also shows the sign of the author, carved close to the Company's logo. In essence, a very original representation of Thor, rather different from the canonical traits of Comics, but equipped with a great appeal, for the joy of all fans of the God of Thunder!
